The apparent premise of this drink seems like a logical one: take the number one carbonated soft drink flavor and try to make it a healthy one that doesn't compromise enjoyment. In terms of formula execution, Pure Cola is clean and crisp (thanks to cane sugar) and has an enjoyable cola flavor. Compared to the big guys, it has slightly less body, a crisper tasted, and what is best described as a slight green tea note to the finish. The nutritional benefits come in the form of vitamin C, B, and added green tea extract (EGCG) in addition to a lower calorie count versus the big guys and no added caffeine. On the outside, the drink's purpose is clearly stated, but the sliver backdrop makes it hard to read from afar (we'd suggest a white paint job). Overall, excellent quality flavor and execution -- but it's going to take a lot for anyone to make Cola a growth category again.
