BevNET Review: Ubermonster is a non-alcoholic energy drink that is made with a base of fermented malt. In terms of taste, Ubermonster appears to use the standard Monster Energy Drink flavor, but the fermented malt gives it a subtle yet unique finish. It’s not really malty per se, but you can definitely see some resemblance to non-alcoholic beer. Functionally, the product uses a blend of caffeine, B vitamins, quercetin, resveratrol, and other standard energy drink ingredients. To give this product its own personality and to fit with the brewed theme, Monster has used a 16.9 oz. green glass bottle and a textured label that features a raised Monster logo and gold metallic accents. It’s definitely a very original approach to the category and one that they’ve executed nicely. The only thing that’s a little clunky is the wide mouth to the bottle, which takes some getting used to. Overall, Ubermonster is an innovative concept, with its most unique asset being the proprietary glass packaging and German style branding.Reviewed on: 4/9/2012
