Ingredient manufacturer Baldwin Richardson Foods has completed an asset acquisition of Corona, California-based beverage co-packer Aseptic Solutions USA, paving the way for the former company to start producing plant-based milks, fruit juices, teas, cocktail mixes, smoothies and coffee creamers.
“In addition to expanding our product offerings, this acquisition will expand our geographical footprint and the agility of our supply chain, best positioning us to help our customers build for the future,” said Baldwin Richardson Foods president Erin Tolefree in a press release earlier today.
Founded in 1997, Macedon, New York-based Baldwin Richardson Foods has become one of the largest African American family-owned businesses in the food industry, partnering with brands as a producer of sauces, syrups and fillings. The manufacturer’s customers currently include quick-service restaurants, CPG brands and food service companies.
Aseptic Solutions specializes in nutritional products, dietary supplements and organic and premium juices. The company utilizes a “flash” sterilization and cold filling process through which beverages are sterilized at high temperatures for a short contact time to kill all existing microorganisms.
Asepti’s assets include full-color, sleeve and shrink-label options on single or multi-layer plastic bottles (PET, HDPE and Poly Propylene). Additionally, the company can bottle a variety of sizes from 2 to 4 oz. in full wrap boxes or trays.
Baldwin Richardson Foods is hopeful that adding aseptic capabilities to its facilities will help the company service new markets and broaden its reach as a full-service liquid products manufacturer in the food and beverage industry.
