BAWLS Guarana: BAWLS Guarana Orange - 10 Oz

BAWLS Guarana’s latest flavor, Orange, is a nice translation of a classic orange soda into what is effectively an energy drink. Generally speaking, we haven’t been big believers of energy drinks that are soda-like, but this one feels like a good fit for a brand that labels itself a “high caffeine guarana soda.” The flavor is clean and sweet and the flavor should be familiar to pretty much any consumer. To that end, the product definitely feels like something that will have very broad appeal, although it does seem like something that’s going to resonate most strongly with the brand's existing target demographic. As for the formulation, perhaps the only improvement we’d suggest is to use sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. On the caffeine front, the product is, at 64mg per 10 oz bottle, high as far as soda is concerned but slightly lower than a standard energy drink. Packaging is the iconic BAWLS bottle, but made with clear glass (the same that’s used on some of their other flavors). Based on the orange color of the liquid, it is easy to identify this product as orange flavor. This allows the front panel to be kept simple and clean, which are precisely the words that we’d used to describe the design as a whole. All in all, this is a nice addition to the BAWLS Guarana lineup.
