BevNET Review
The rest of the Bundaberg lineup is comprised of fruit flavored offerings, all of which contain five or six percent fruit juice. While we definitely appreciate their effort in using quality ingredients, the Blood Orange seems like the flavor with the most potential. The reason being that this is the flavor that most closely resembles a standard CSD , which is ultimately what we think consumers will buy (the Lemon Lime & Bitters is a close second). As for this product, it has a nice tasting orange flavor, which, thanks to the added blood orange juice, actually tastes like fruit rather than flavoring. The blood orange flavor helps the product taste sophisticated and refreshing, while a heavy dose of sugar gives the product a high level of sweetness. On the outside, the 11.65 oz. clear glass bottle seems like a good fit, with the consumer able to see the natural looking color of the liquid through the bottle. The label and branding incorporate Australia quite a bit, with both an image of a kangaroo and a “Made in Australia” badge along the bottom of the front panel. We also appreciate the resealable top, which allows you to take your time in consuming this product. Our only concern about this product is that its being shipped to the US from Australia, which is something that will impact either cost or margin (or both) for the product. Overall, Bundaberg Blood Orange is a refreshing and enjoyable twist on a classic soda flavor.
