Cawston Press: Cloudy Apple

Given that the entire Cawston Press line is enhanced with pressed apple juice, this variety appears to be the brand's flagship product. Made in the U.K., this beverage is a straightforward blend of 70 percent apple juice, sparkling water, and vitamin C. As you can imagine, the flavor is apple-forward. Using pressed apple juice and no added sugar definitely makes a big difference in terms of the quality of the apple flavor. Still, we wonder if what Cawston has created is unique enough to feel like something that's a step above what's already available in sparkling juice form. However, what the company has done with the packaging definitely helps make it feel premium and sophisticated. It all starts with a 12 oz. can, which has been given a white paint job and a text-heavy design that stacks all of the important info on the front panel. It's a unique approach that we haven't seen on this type of package before. Surprisingly, the text really catches your eye and does a nice job of quickly articulating what the product is all about. Overall, it’s hard to say how big the potential is for a sparkling apple juice flavor, but Cawston has definitely put its best foot forward in terms of presentation and flavor.
