Chameleon Cold-Brew: Vanilla Coffee

Like its mocha-flavored counterpart, this variety of Chameleon Cold Brew is a ready-to-drink blend of cold-brew coffee with just a touch of flavoring and sweetness. In this case, the company added organic vanilla flavoring to the mix along with 7g of sugar. It’s a very nice tasting product that, unlike many other vanilla-flavored coffee drinks that we’ve sampled, isn’t overpowered by the vanilla flavoring. It very much complements the bold, but smooth, base of cold-brew coffee. To that end, this is a very nice line extension for Chameleon, with the product certainly helping to boost the credibility of its coffee and flagship line as a result. And for this product, it’s one that seems like it should have broad appeal ranging from coffee snobs to mainstream consumers who are looking for something different. Visually, we really like what the company has done. The 10 oz. glass bottle that Chameleon has chosen doesn’t look like anything that’s out there, which is pretty important in a category that’s dominated by Starbucks and its iconic Frappuccino bottle. Beyond that, the design is simple and very clean, while the tagline of “Coffee, Evolved” (which appears on the back) is a smart way to sum up what the brand is all about. Overall, we’re big fans of this product.
