Review: Coca-Cola with Lime
(Last Updated: Mar 01, 2005 at 11:44 AM)
As far as Coke line extensions go, Coca-Cola with Lime is definitely one of the better introductions. The lime flavor is much more subtle than the vanilla or cherry flavored varieties and also more natural tasting. In addition, the lime flavor gives the product a nice citrus finish that helps reduce the normal aftertaste found in cola. While it's tough to say whether this product has any long-term viability or if it's just going to boost short term sales, we do think that Coke drinkers will find this a worthy product to try. However, those people that do not drink Coke on a regular basis (most of us, included) will likely find little reason to try this product. After all, adding lime to cola isn't exactly a revolutionary idea (Havana Cola, for example, has already done it). Furthermore, the current cycle of new flavored colas (lemon, vanilla, and now lime) isn't doing anything to help a category where sales are flat.
