The Apple Ginger Lemon variety of Honeydrop’s Raw Manuka Honey line is a solid offering that definitely tastes like something for a mainstream consumer. It’s tart and sweet from the added apple and lemon, while the ginger and honey combine to create something that’s earthy and spicy. Using Manuka honey, an expensive ingredient sourced from New Zealand, is a marketable plus, although it’s hard to distinguish it from the honey used in the other varieties given all the flavor that’s on top of it. Regardless, this is a really tasty product and the overall execution of the formulation is well-executed. On the outside, this product’s identity is all about raw manuka honey; it dominates the label. The Honeydrop brand is something that’s not really much of a contributor to the product’s look, which, at least in the long run, is something that the company might want to consider making more prominent. Otherwise, the product isn’t flashy looking and instead takes a largely text-based approach to communicating with the consumer.
