Review: Raw Manuka Honey - Matcha Lemon

Honeydrop’s Raw Manuka Honey with Matcha Lemon is probably the one flavor in the lineup that really feels different than all the rest. Made with water, lemon, raw manuka honey, and matcha, the beverage, which is high pressure processed (HPP), tastes like a tea-based drink -- and a very good one at that. There’s a hefty note of lemon that hits your tongue, followed by the honey, and the combination of the these flavors with the matcha makes for something that’s really enjoyable and has layers of flavor. We love the notes of sweet and tart, while the matcha adds a grassy flavor to the finish. All in all, this is a really enjoyable product. On the outside, the packaging, which is a 10 oz. plastic bottle, looks the part of an HPP product. However, we do feel as though the company should explicitly call this out. Beyond that, the label has the makings of something that is intuitive, but it stumbles slightly with the amount of text that’s on the front in that there’s too much of it and the flavor name and the raw honey aren’t a cohesive element. Overall, there’s a lot to like about this product and, with a small bit of refinement, this could definitely be Honeydrop's strongest variety to date.
