Review: Maple Water - Ginger

Happy Tree’s Ginger Maple Water is a blend of two ingredients: organic maple water and organic ginger juice. Like the brand's other two varieties, this one is high pressure processed (HPP) and low in calories (25 per 8 oz. serving -- 50 per 16 oz. bottle). The flavor is incredibly fresh and enjoyable, with a light note of ginger on top of the pleasant taste of maple water. It’s light in mouthfeel, but doesn’t skimp on flavor, and you can definitely chug this product quite quickly. We never thought we’d say this about a flavored maple water, but we might actually prefer this one to Happy Tree's flagship formulation. Why? The combination of the maple flavor and the spice of the ginger results in something that’s unique amongst what we’ve sampled from any maple water brand to date. We’re definitely hooked. Packaging is a 16 oz. round bottle that looks like many of the HPP juices out there. However, much like the brand's lemon flavor, Happy Tree has chosen an accent color that’s a bit hard on the eyes, especially when you get to the nutrition facts panel. Otherwise, the design feels clean and approachable; it's hard to argue with that approach. Overall, a very well-executed product that, despite a slight visual misstep, might be the best maple water product out there right now.
