Jax Coco: Sparkling Coconut Water

Sparkling coconut water is something that we can’t say that we’ve had before (this product also has with added vitamin C). It’s a pretty strange way to market a flavor, at least in so far as it isn’t something that we think enhances the appeal of the product. From a flavor perspective, it has a very sharp flavor, which is unlike the more subtle salty-sweet flavor that is typically associated with coconut water. The best comparison we can make is lemon soda with a splash of coconut water. In our opinion, it’s not the most successful flavor combination out there (unfortunately, neither is the Calamansi variety). Visually, this product looks extremely similar to the 100% Pure variety. The only differences are the text and the addition of small bubble outlines, both of which are very easy to miss. In our opinion, the company needs to make the design of the two bottles look more distinct AND they need to market this flavor differently than calling it the not-so-appealing “Vitamin C.” Overall, we we do appreciate their efforts to innovate in this category, but the execution needs work.
