KeVita Master Brew Kombucha: Tart Cherry

KeVita’s Tart Cherry flavored Master Brew Kombucha is a pleasant blend of kombucha (made with both kombucha and Kevita probiotic cultures as well as evaporated cane juice), tart cherry juice, ginger, cherry flavor and stevia. The combination of tart cherry juice and effervescent kombucha works quite well, with the tart note doing a nice job of smoothing out the vinegar like note of the kombucha. This is also one of the few flavors where we felt like we could taste the added ginger. In the case of this flavor, it’s also a pretty important tertiary flavor in that it bridges the gap between the cherry and kombucha flavors. Still, we wish that the stevia were masked just a bit better. It’s not that it’s overly harsh, but it’s so close to the point where we can’t even taste it. Otherwise, we really like the positioning of this product as a USDA Organic kombucha with 20 calories per serving. And on the outside, the company has done a really nice job of executing a design that’s both pleasing to the eye and intuitive. Overall, a nice job by Kevita.
