LIVE Kombucha: Dreamy Orange (2015)

Live Soda Kombucha’s Dreamy Orange is a blend of another classic soda flavor, orange cream, and the company's base of sparkling kombucha. From a flavor perspective, it works quite well, with the orange and cream flavors enhancing the flavor of the tea (which tastes like black tea). It’s sweetened with both stevia and evaporated cane juice, which gives it a very natural tasting sweetness but cut the calories (60) and sugar content (13.5g). Putting all of this together, the product is complex, but refreshing, and ultimately tastes like an orange-flavored sparkling tea. Unlike traditional kombucha, this one lacks the vinegar flavor, which should certainly help it with mainstream consumers. On the branding and packaging front, the product has, as of spring 2015, moved into a proprietary 12 oz. glass bottle. This is the company's best looking product to date, and it’s a design that feels complete. Plus, we think there will be a big benefit to have a look that isn’t stereotypical of either soda or kombucha, but still looks similar enough. Overall, a well-executed product that has been made even better by Live's latest packaging update.
