LIVE Kombucha: Living Limon (2015)

As with every flavor of Live Kombucha Soda, this product is a play on a classic soda flavor (lemon lime) that has been blended with a raw kombucha base. At about 60 calories per 12 oz. bottle, the product is big on flavor but light in terms of its level of sweetness (from sugar and stevia) and mouthfeel. And for a stevia-sweetened product, we were quite impressed that there’s no sweetener aftertaste whatsoever. The kombucha is quite mild, having no vinegar flavor at all. There is, however, a nice tea undertone to the product, which is ultimately what makes the experience of consuming this and other flavors of Live quite enjoyable. This of course also is what adds the drink’s functionality, which include probiotics, electrolytes, and antioxidants. Packaging, which is now a 12 oz. custom glass bottle, looks much better than any of the company's previous efforts. Aside from being very eye catching with the custom glass and beautifully designed label, the shape of the bottle does a nice job of incorporating elements from both soda and kombucha bottles. Ultimately, it gives Live a visual appearance that’s polished, appealing, and, most importantly, the company's own. Overall, a very enjoyable product that is well-executed from end-to-end.
