BevNET Review

Made in Spain, Mucho Gazpacho’s flagship flavor, Bravo Tomato, uses a very clean list of ingredients. It’s made with crushed vegetables, including tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet onions, and red bell peppers, olive oil, white wine vinegar and salt. From there, the blend is pasteurized, so it has a slightly cooked flavor (as opposed to the HPP gazpachos that we’ve tried, which do not). Thanks to the tomatoes and vinegar, it’s slightly tart and tangy, while the olive oil gives it some body. The salt finishes things off, just as it would in any good gazpacho. The consistency of the product is slightly pulpy, but not chunky, which is another difference between this product and the real thing. Regardless, it’s a very enjoyable tasting product, especially if you don’t drink ice cold. Nutritionally, the product has 115 calories, 3g of fiber, 2g of protein, 483mg of sodium, and low amounts of iron and calcium. Packaging is probably the drink’s strongest attribute. The 8 oz. glass bottle has been fully wrapped in an attractive white label. The large tomato image sets the tone for the product, while the rest of it is left to text, which has a hand drawn style to it. It definitely catches the eye, and it’s intuitive -- two things that are pretty important for a beverage brand. Overall, a very enjoyable product that might not be the best bottle of gazpacho out there, but it can definitely hold its own.
