James Bay Distillers Releases Mexican Espresso Coffee Liqueur

Everett, WA.  James Bay Distillers announced the release of their Espresso Coffee Liqueur, made with Mexican espresso coffees and organic cane sugar.  Bottled at 30% ABV/60 proof, James Bay Espresso Coffee Liqueur features a satisfying dark-roast profile, with pleasant caramel and crème brûlée notes followed by a full-bodied, smooth lingering finish.  The liqueur is currently available at the distillery with online sales to be added.  

“We experimented with nearly a dozen espresso brands, testing their suitability as a liqueur until our tasting panel settled on ones we’ve actually been making at home,” said Ernest Troth, company president.  “There’s no shortage of “coffee” liqueurs, so we knew we had to have superior flavor and style of coffee to develop a distinctive and flavorful liqueur,” he added.  “That’s why we use our own combination of Café Bustelo and Punta del Cielo coffees, two products from Mexico, for this liqueur because of the exceptional flavor experience.” 

Fun and easy cocktails include the espresso martini  as well as black (and white) Russians.  James Bay Espresso Coffee Liqueur also blends easily with cold-brew espresso over ice for a tasty refreshing cold drink, topped with cold foam.  James Bay Distillers recommends using the liqueur as an add-on for the Italian affogato dessert which features vanilla ice cream and freshly brewed espresso. 

The label features a hand-drawn sketch of a classic Italian-style moka pot espresso maker by Ukrainian-born artist Alexander Babich, now based in Paraguay.  Babich has been featured in Diario La Nación, Asunción, where his art is available locally and online under his social media name @suricoma.  Babich’s drawing was selected from among other candidates, then colorized by the James Bay artistic team with watercolor pencil.  The vivid and energetic colors are emblematic of the espresso coffees they selected.
