Q drinks: Q Kola

From the makers of Q Tonic comes Q Kola, a super-premium cola that is packaged in an attractive 8 oz. glass bottle. The formulation is top notch, with an agave-sweetened blend of cinnamon, cloves, coriander, kola nut, lemon, lime, orange, caramel, nutmeg, phosphoric acid, and caffeine. The flavor is spot-on, with a bold but mellow cola flavor that doesn’t rely too heavily on sweetness. The agave seems like a great choice, with it adding both sweetness and a subtle earthy note to the finish. All in all, this is one of the best-tasting colas that we’ve had in a long time. Visually, the “Q” brand is simple and clean, with a super premium look to it that is definitely enhanced by the product’s smallish size. Our only concern with the design (and this is admittedly splitting hairs) is that when you consume half the bottle, the artwork tends to disappear with it. Adding an outline or some other visual tweak could probably remedy this. Overall, we really like what they’ve done with this product -- one of the best CSDs we’ve had in a long time.
