BevNET Review
This flavor of Reed’s Culture Club Kombucha is made with water, sugar, oolong tea, yerba mate, organic coffee and kombucha culture. From a taste perspective, the combination of the tea, coffee, and a slightly vinegary flavor isn’t quite something that we’d naturally gravitate towards, but it works. In particular, the tanginess of the kombucha does a nice job of bridging the gap between the coffee and tea flavors that are at the core of the product. Throw in a touch of sweetness and the product is both complex and very enjoyable. Plus, it’s one of the more unique flavor profiles to be part of the Reed’s Culture Club line. Packaging, which is the same 13.5 oz. container as the rest of the line, is somewhat underwhelming and plain. The label, which is a clear square label that sits on the curved part of the bottle, often appears to be misapplied (even our samples had large bubbles in it), which doesn’t exactly help one’s expectations of what’s inside the bottle. Beyond that, it feels straightforward and easy to read -- you certainly wouldn’t mistake it for anything but kombucha. Overall, we really enjoyed the unique flavor of this product, but we do feel as though the branding could be improved upon.
