Review: Tropic Wonder - 16 oz

Revive Kombucha’s Tropic Wonder is a beverage made with an earl grey and orange peel kombucha culture, which is then flavored with orange juice, lemon juice, vanilla extract and cayenne. The flavor is smooth and well-balanced, with the light citrus flavor pairing nicely with the flavor of the earl grey tea. The underlying fermented flavor isn’t vinegary, but has a slight funk to it just like the company's other flavors. It’s definitely nice to see that Revive has changed the underlying kombucha culture for each flavor rather than simply flavoring the same finished batch of kombucha as some companies do. As a result, the product definitely has a higher quality and more cohesive flavor (at least in our opinion). The finishing notes of vanilla and cayenne are a nice touch, especially if you like some slight spice in your kombucha. All in all, we really enjoyed this beverage. Visually, this is definitely one of the loudest looking flavors that we’ve seen from Revive. As a limited release product, this seems like a fine approach as it’s sure to catch some eyes. However, we do feel as though this flavor could be a mainstay for the company and, if that were the case, some refinements would be helpful. Overall, a very nice addition to the Revive lineup.
