Santa Cruz Organic: Ginger Ale

We were skeptical about the ability of Santa Cruz to pull off a 5 percent juice, spritzer-based ginger ale. We shouldn’t have been. This excellent drink isn’t too sweet up front and has a nice ginger bite at the end, with some good spice, and none of the off-notes that come from trying to soup up that bite beyond its normal limitations. If Santa Cruz could improve on the cans for this line – or even come up with a unique ginger ale packaging for this particular flavor – they could have a real winner here. But as it is, it’s just a great flavor that’s severely underdressed.
