Suja Elements: Elements - Green Charge

Suja Elements’ Green Charge is the flavor that bridges the gap between Suja’s flagship high pressure processed (HPP) juice line and the smoothie category. Its base flavors, which include apple, kale, spinach and pineapple, are reminiscent of one of Suja’s juice products, while added banana, mango, chia seed and flax seed help give it a smoothie-like body and consistency. In addition, the company has added kiwi, barley grass, spirulina, chlorella and alfalfa, but those particular ingredients aren’t easily distinguishable from the rest of the mix. But what Suja has created is quite enjoyable and definitely the place to start if you’re a fan of green juices. Visually, this product has a lot going on, but we think the overall approach should help Suja expand its brand into the smoothie set. While the label is pretty busy, the only thing that we really think needs more emphasis is the product’s HPP/lack of pasteurization. At least for now, that’s a timely point of differentiation and one that is pulling consumers to Suja’s flagship line. Assuring customers that this line has the same great quality is definitely something that will be helpful. Overall, a very solid product, and we’re excited to see what else they come up with.
