Texas Tea: Texas Peach Tea

Texas Tea’s Texas Peach Tea is a pretty standard riff on the classic blend of black tea, peach (flavoring and puree), sugar, and honey. It tastes exactly how we’d expect it to: loads of sweetness, some slight acidity from the base of black tea, and a decent amount of peach flavoring on the backend. Don’t get us wrong, this product is a nice tasting peach-flavored tea and the use of honey is a nice touch. However, it’s not that much different from what’s out there, so it’s hard to see why a consumer would become loyal to this product over whatever they are currently drinking. That is, of course, unless the Texas branding pulls them in. From our perspective, it’s a bit too in your face (it says Texas four times on the front of the label and features two images of the state) to be successful. Furthermore, while it says Texas and uses a Western-style font, it feels devoid of personality or something that the consumer could connect with. Overall, this is a nice product, but it feels like an opportunistic beverage that’s interchangeable with the countless other peach-flavored iced teas that are already on the market.
