Spirit makers celebrated everything from brand anniversaries to traditional holidays this month with the launch of a wide range of limited-edition tequila and mezcal varieties. The new tequilas featured below contain flavors ranging from lemon and vanilla to turkey breast and sherry wine. Corralejo Tequila
On the heels of its limited-edition 25th anniversary Extra Añejo Tequila launch, Corralejo has added an Extra Añejo variety that will remain in its permanent, core lineup. The tequila is made at Hacienda Corralejo which was the first estate in Mexico to commercialize sales of the spirit 250 years ago. The new expression is made with 100% Blue Weber agave and has notes of caramel, smoke and citrus. It is available at select retailers for a suggested retail price of $79.99 per 750 mL bottle (40% ABV).
Maestro Dobel
11th-generation tequila maker Juan Dobel introduced Dobel Pavito’s latest expression this month: limited-edition pechuga tequila Maestro Dobel Pavito. The tequila is made with an ancestral process that uses seasonal fruits, spices and turkey breast to create a savory flavor. Maestro Dobel Pavito is available at select retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
Lejana y Sola
PaQuito Tequila’s sister brand, Lejana y Sola, introduced a new mezcal to its lineup made with Espadin and wild Arroqueño agave. Previously, the brand has produced a mezcal made with Espadin and wild Cuishe agave. Lejana y Sola tequila differentiates itself in the industry for its combination of these wild agaves.
Inspiro
Female-founded tequila brand Inspiro launched in the U.S. this month with its gluten- and additive-free Luna Blanco tequila made with 100% Blue Weber Agave. The tequila is aged in American oak barrels and contains no calories and no carbs. Inspiro Tequila’s debut expression is available online and at select retailers for $52.99 per 750 mL bottle (40% ABV).
Don Julio
In celebration of the brand’s upcoming 80th anniversary, Don Julio has introduced Ultima Reserva made from the last harvest of agave planted by its founder Don Julio González. There are only 4,000 cases of Tequila Don Julio Ultima Reserva, which is aged for 36-months and finished in seasoned Madeira wine casks. The expression will be released in small batches each year until it reaches the end of his final agave harvest. Don Julio’s Ultima Reserva is available for a suggested retail price of $399 in select markets.
Curamia
Making its brand debut with a blanco tequila, female-founded Curamia was founded and made by Jalisco chef Dafna Mizrahi. The liquid features herbal finishes and was made through a sustainable distillation process. Curamia Tequila is available at select retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $38.99 per 750 mL bottle (40% ABV).
Padre Azul
Tequila maker Padre Azul introduced a limited edition Día de los Muertos expression packaged in a bottle designed by Mexican artist José Parra. This Añejo tequila was aged for 18 months in oak bourbon barrels and features flavors of vanilla, caramel, chocolate, cinnamon and dried fruits. Padre Azul Día de los Muertos tequila is available for $172.74 per 700 mL bottle.
IZO Spirits
California-based IZO Spirits introduced a limited edition Añejo Cenizo mezcal this month made from agave grown in the high-altitudes of Durango, Mexico. Only 749 bottles of this American oak barrel-aged mezcal were produced which is available online during the month of October.
Duke Spirits
Duke Spirits introduced its Duke Grand Cru Tequila collection featuring three new single-estate expressions finished in Duke Grand Cru Whiskeys barrels. This Founder’s Reserve Collection includes a Reposado, Extra Añejo and a John Wayne commemorative limited edition Extra Añejo. The spirits are available for a suggested retail price of $64 to $250 per 750 mL bottle depending on the variety.
Patron
Premium tequila brand Patron released its latest innovation this month — Sherry Cask Aged Añejo. This limited edition tequila is aged for two years in Spanish oak barrels and blended with wine made in the Andalucia region of Spain. PATRÓN Sherry Cask Aged Añejo Tequila is available exclusively on Drizly for a suggested retail price of $79.99 per 750 mL bottle.
Solento
Organic tequila brand Solento introduced a smaller format for its Reposado and Blanco expressions this month. The liquid is made from agave that was grown for seven years and the Resposado was aged in American oak barrels for nine months while the Blanco features vanilla and lemon flavors. The new 375 mL bottles for Solento’s petite range are available online and at select hotels in California, Colorado, Arizona, New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Hawaii.
