Alma del Jaguar Tequila Launches Second Seasonal High-Proof Tequila Blanco
Memphis, Tennessee (October 21, 2024) —Morningside Brands, Inc., producer and importer of Alma del Jaguar Tequila, one of the fastest-growing single-estate tequila brands in the U.S., announces the fall release of Nocturna, the latest in their seasonal high-proof tequila blanco series. Bottled at 101 proof, Nocturna is made with 100% wild yeast, water, and agave.
The Spring 2024 release showcased a mineral-forward profile with green pepper notes, reflecting Jalisco's arid season. By contrast, the wetter growing conditions for Fall 2024 expression offer a spicier, richer flavor with baking spices and jalapeño and a cinnamon sweetness reminiscent of Big Red gum, according to founder McCauley Williams. Each Nocturna offering prominently displays its production season, highlighting how fermentation and agave growth conditions dramatically shape its profile.
Founded in 2022 to support jaguar conservation in the U.S. and Mexico, Alma del Jaguar donates proceeds from all of its tequilas to projects like the Northern Jaguar Project, co-founded by Williams' uncle, Rick Williams. The name "Nocturna" reflects the jaguar’s nocturnal habits, illustrated on the bottle.
Alma del Jaguar Tequila is produced at a single estate in Jalisco, Mexico, in partnership with the fifth-generation Vivanco tequila family and Master Distiller Sergio Cruz at NOM 1414 in Arandas. The tequilas are crafted from sustainably grown blue weber agave, cultivated over 6,800 feet above sea level in the highlands of Los Altos de Jalisco. This region’s cool nights, warm days, iron-rich soil, and seasonal rainfall contribute to the development of sweeter, richer agave plants.
Committed to sustainability. Alma del Jaguar uses 100% recycled Mexican glass bottles, agave fiber labels, repurposed cork closures, and recycled cardboard packaging, all sourced locally within 85 miles of the distillery.
