European debut of TasteMod2 and advances in carbonation retention set to raise the bar for healthier, fizzier drinks
Leeds, UK. August 2025 – CO2Sustain, the UK-based beverage technology innovator, will unveil two groundbreaking solutions at drinktec 2025 (Hall C3, New Beverage Concept Area, Stand 679e), offering manufacturers new ways to meet consumer demand for healthier, more sustainable, and better-tasting beverages.
At the forefront is the European debut of TasteMod2, a cutting-edge Flavour with Modifying Properties (FMP) designed to help brands deliver full-flavour experiences in reduced-sugar drinks. As sugar taxes and consumer demand for "better-for-you" beverages continue to grow, TasteMod2 offers manufacturers a strategic edge by:
- Masking unpleasant aftertastes from sweeteners such as Stevia or Sucralose
- Enhancing mouthfeel and texture
- Delivering a sugar-like taste profile
- Functioning across both still and carbonated formats
“TasteMod2 is more than just an ingredient—it’s a strategic advantage,” said Jonathan Stott, Director at CO2Sustain. “It empowers brands to meet the demand for healthier drinks, while giving consumers the flavour experience they crave.”
Alongside TasteMod2, CO2Sustain will spotlight its flagship CO2Sustain carbonation single-ingredient solution delivering five major wins for manufacturers:
- Enhanced consumer experience – longer-lasting fizz, less foaming, more sparkle
- CO2 efficiency – reducing dependence on strained CO2 supply chains
- Lightweight PET packaging compatibility – enabling thinner, more sustainable bottles without performance loss
- Extended carbonation shelf life – keeping beverages fresh and fizzy for up to two additional months
- Sustainability benefits – reducing global CO2 usage and supporting net-zero goals
A live taste-testing experience will be available throughout the show, giving attendees the opportunity to trial both innovations first-hand.
“From smarter carbonation to breakthrough flavour modulation, our mission is to help brands not just keep pace with consumer trends, but to get ahead,” added Stott.
