With roots tracing back to 1900, Moskovskaya Vodka stands as one of the world's oldest existing vodka brands that has survived empires, borders, and ideologies. First produced in Imperial Russia, then thriving as a national epitome of quality during the Soviet era, Moskovskaya has stayed faithful to its original formula for over 125 years.
To celebrate its 125th anniversary year, Moskovskaya has launched a new communication platform "History in the Making", supported by a refreshed website to showcase the brand's refreshed label redesign, which blends Moskovskaya's heritage with a bold, modern aesthetic.
The landmark anniversary also sees the launch of its limited-edition collector's gift set, released in only 5,000 numbered units worldwide. Each set features a 700ml Moskovskaya bottle and an exclusive art poster by Matt Withers, the acclaimed Economist cover illustrator. The release embodies the brand's visual art with a premium gifting experience. The two original artworks - "Let's Reinvent the World" and "A Toast Through the Ages" - reinterpret Moskovskaya's core values, celebrating creativity, transformation, and dialogue between generations. Together, they serve as a visual manifesto of the brand: the future belongs to those who dare to reinvent it.
While the packaging has evolved, the original Osobaya recipe remains untouched: a vodka crafted in Riga, Latvia, from high-quality European wheat and three-stage filtered according to the traditional method by Dmitry Mendeleev, the Russian chemist and inventor of the periodic table, to achieve its signature silky smoothness.
125 years on, Moskovskaya continues to strengthen its position as one of the world's most enduring vodka brands - distributed in over 50 markets and recording sales of more than 440,000 9LC in 2024. Distribution of the new label and limited-edition sets started in 2025 and will reach all the key regions in Q1 2026.
