Hoot + Howl Spirits' mountain-crafted, historically inspired spirits earned high-scoring medals at the Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) World Spirits Championships, multiple medals at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards, and top honors—including Best of Colorado—at the recent ACSA Heartland Whiskey Competition. In its first year, Hoot + Howl has been recognized among the best in Colorado and beyond.
Hoot + Howl's two unique cask-finished bourbons, Amaro Cask Bourbon and Armagnac Cask Bourbon, earned gold medals at the 2026 Beverage Testing Institute World Spirits Championships. One of the nation's most rigorous spirits evaluation programs, BTI judges score spirits on a 100-point scale. Both bourbons scored 92 points, ranking as "Exceptional" in the bourbon category. At the World Whiskies Awards, which evaluates whiskies from across the globe, Hoot + Howl also earned silver medals for its Amaro Cask Bourbon and Armagnac Cask Bourbon.
As a distillery, Hoot + Howl Spirits also won "Best of Colorado" at the ACSA Heartland Whiskey Competition, where it also took home two silver medals for the Amaro Cask Bourbon and Armagnac Cask Bourbon. Both expressions benefit from a full year in their respective finishing casks, allowing the spirits time to mature and marry with new cask flavors.
Armagnac Cask Bourbon is blended from seven-year-old bourbon and finished for one year in an ex-Armagnac cask. This spirit is rich with layers of fruit, spice, and oak. Notes of candied fruit, vanilla, toasted almonds, and cinnamon create a bold yet smooth sipping experience.
Amaro Cask Bourbon is blended from seven-year-old bourbon and finished for one year in a Sicilian amaro cask. This whiskey delivers a rich balance of sweet, bitter, and herbal notes. With hints of vanilla, citrus peel, dried fruit, and caramel, it drinks like a Black Manhattan in a bottle.
Hoot + Howl's Black Tea Liqueur earned a silver medal at the Beverage Testing Institute World Spirits Championships. Double distilled and infused with loose-leaf black tea, bergamot peel, and rich Demerara sugar, this liqueur also undergoes the historical process of tranchage, capturing the essence of a perfectly brewed sweet tea.
Triple Sec earned a silver medal at the BTI World Spirits Championships. Double distilled and mellowed through the historical tranchage process, Hoot + Howl's Triple Sec Liqueur is crafted with bitter orange, lemon, and bergamot peels, offering vibrant citrus flavors with hints of orange blossom, vanilla, and spice.
Gin earned a bronze medal at the BTI World Spirits Championships. Inspired by Colorado's alpine landscape, Hoot + Howl's double-distilled mountain gin blends native botanicals like spruce tips and white sage with bay laurel, juniper, and other mountainous botanicals. Its rich, full-bodied profile balances herbal, floral, and citrus notes, delivering a clean, complex spirit reminiscent of an ancient tonic.
