BevNET Live Breakouts, Round 2: Featuring DFA, MetaBrand, Cascadia, Suja
December 3, 2013 by Jeffrey Klineman
BevNET Live’s second set of Breakout Sessions take place between 2:50 and 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 at the Loews Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif. The second round of breakouts will be followed by the BevNET Expo.
For Round 2, from 2:50 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., attendees can choose from the following sessions:
Operations and Contract Manufacturing — A Love Story
Join Darold Sauber, Director of Business Development at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and Michael Fougere, Director of Operations for MetaBrand, in a no-holds-barred discussion on the best ways for a company to build a successful relationship with a co-packer.
The pair have deep experience in both product development and manufacturing — and a strong sense of where in the communications cycle things go off-track, and how to avoid them. (Palisades Ballroom c/d)
As head of marketing, Greg Fleishman, CMO of Suja, launched both Kashi and Sambazon in multiple countries; Bill Sipper, the Managing Partner of Cascadia Managing Brands has spent months at a time in Asia, Europe, and South America unloading containers of products for multiple entrepreneurial clients, and Flo Eysler, co-founder of iF Juiceis an international entrepreneur who is currently marketing and selling Western-style natural juices and other beverages in the fast growing Chinese marketplace.
Together the three will share stories and information about the markets they’ve worked in, what translates overseas, how entrepreneurs should think about foreign opportunities and the best way to know when a brand is ready to take on a new country. (Catalina Ballroom)
Working With Herb and Botanical Extracts
Jennifer Higgins, Marketing Director, Draco Natural Products, will lead attendees through the extraction techniques and increased efficacy that can be derived through the use of Draco’s technology. (Venice Ballroom)
Package Design: Presentation and Discussion
Damien Moyal, Senior Designer, Scor Creative, will help entrepreneurs understand some of the keys to reconciling the advantage of launching in a great design with the often out-of-reach cost of great design, as well as new design models for agencies serving the beverage space that may be more accessible to start-ups.
