BevNET Review: 5-hour’s latest flavor is Grape, which, like the other 5-hour varieties, is a sugar free energy shot that contains only 4 calories. The grape flavor is actually quite pleasant, helping to mask the functional ingredients and the artificial sweetener(sucralose). From a functional perspective, the product contains lots of B vitamins as well as taurine, glucuronolactone, caffeine, citicoline, L-tyrosine, L-phenylalanine, and N-acetyl. While the bottle doesn’t disclose how much caffeine is in the product, it packs some punch. And while we can’t say whether or not it lasts for hours, it’s definitely better performing than a lot of other products that we’ve tried. On the packaging and branding front, this product continues to have a big advantage, utilizing a look that is clean and easy to read and takes full advantage of the equity that 5-hour has built for itself. The flavor name is easy to spot, with a yellow callout directly above the 5-hour logo with a bunch of grapes placed directly next to it. Otherwise, the product looks exactly like the other 5-hour varieties that make up its flagship line. In that sense, there’s not a lot of innovative qualities about this product’s look, but it’s still well executed. Overall, a fine addition to the 5-hour line -- especially on the flavor front.
