BevNET Review: The Fruit Punch variety of Firefighter Brands' EMS Hydro Energy is a noticeably sweet beverage that was designed to provide hydration quicker than a traditional sports drink. You'll notice many things on the ingredients list that you won't see on a sports drink -- including caffeine. Regardlessof those ingredients, consumers are still going to evaluate this product as a sports drink and from that point of view, the product is still a very attractive offering. The red color that the product uses in the beverage and label work very well with a brand called Firefighter. As previously mentioned, the flavor is sweet but not overwhelming and is definitely enjoyable to consume. Overall, a job well done by Firefighter Brands.Reviewed on: 6/27/2005

BevNET Review: Firefighter's Lemon-Lime flavored EMS Hydro Energy is a solid tasting sports drink that is on par with Gatorade and PowerAde. Perhaps it is not the most original entry into the sports drink category, but it is an excellent use of the Firefighter brand name, one with the potential to be much more appealing than Firefighter's flagship CSD line. Featuring both the Firefighter shield logo and an EMS logo, the visuals are busy, but eye-catching. The package is rounded out with its hydrant shaped bottle. Overall, this is a well-executed drink that is pleasing to both the palate and the eye.Reviewed on: 6/27/2005

BevNET Review: Orange was our favorite flavor of the EMS Hydro Energy brand. Featuring a sweet orange flavor that uses Firefighter Brands' proprietary formulation to speed absorption into the body, this product is definitely worth a try. The orange flavor is natural tasting and is sweetened to levels that are typical of the sports drink category. In addition, the tie with EMS and Firefighters is a natural (yet untapped) way to market a sports drink. The packaging has a lot going on on its label, but still manages to get the message across. BevNET Review: Aesthetically speaking, we like the dark purple color of Wild Berry and the overall presence of the package. The flavor, however, left something to be desired. Its sweet and sour taste is almost candy-like and is simply not the type of thing that we'd want to consume when performing physical activity. While there's probably a market out there for this product, we'd like to see a less tart, lighter-colored product. Until then, we'll pick one of the other flavors.Reviewed on: 6/27/2005
