goodberrymint

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 16.9 oz PET
BevNET Review: Pairing mint and berry flavorings seems like a pretty good concept and, fortunately for Metromint, the execution is quite good. Like their other flavors, this is an unsweetened product, which allows the cooling sensation of the mint to take center stage. The berry flavor is good, adding a mellow amount of fruit flavor to the body and finish of the drink. And really, that’s it – the flavor is quite simple and straight forward. For the product’s packaging, Metromint is sticking with what they know, namely a slim 16.9 oz. bottle and a polka dot design. In this case, the dots are pink, which offers some nice contrast to the other colors that are a part of the Metromint brand. They’ve also introduced a charitable aspect, with 10 percent of the profits from this flavor going to support San Francisco area (where Soma Beverage is located) charities. Overall, we like the flavor and packaging quite a bit (and we applaud their charitable efforts), but this doesn’t seem like a game changer for this brand. Still, a very worthy product if you like Metromint’s other flavors.Reviewed on: 7/2/2010

cherrymint

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 16.9 fl oz
BevNET Review: Metromint's latest flavor is Cherrymint, which, as the name implies, is an unsweetened mixture of cherry and mint flavors. The flavor is mellow and smooth, with the unsweetened cherry flavoring cutting the bite on the mint and also giving it some depth. However, it's still a true Metromint flavor as it leaves a lingering mint flavor that cleanses your palate. On the outside, they've selected a bright red accent color, which helps the flavor to pop out amongst the other Metromint flavors. That being said, we think that this is one of the better flavors of the lineup, both in terms of flavor and visuals. Definitely recommended.Reviewed on: 3/17/2008

Chocolatemint Water

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 16.9 fl oz PET
BevNET Review: Metromint's latest installment is a blend of chocolate and mint flavors, which results in something along the lines of a peppermint patty but without the sugar. The unsweetened formula is extremely rich in flavor, which is impressive for a zero calorie product. Aside from the chocolate flavor, the product has a less pronounced mint flavor than the other varieties, which, when combined with the addition of the chocolate, should make for a product that brings new buyers to the brand. Packaging is attractive and clean, using brown colored dots to denote that this is the chocolate flavor of the brand. Overall, a superb addition to the Metromint lineup - their best yet.Reviewed on: 10/16/2007

Peppermint Water

Product Type:Water: Still; Container: 16.9 fl oz
BevNET Review: True to it's name, METROMINT Water uses a simple formulation: water and peppermint. This formula gives the product plenty of flavor and keeps it at zero calories, making it a unique beverage for the calorie-conscious consumer. The mint flavor is refreshing and provides the drinker with a natural cooling sensation that allows the beverage to be consumed at room temperature. The downside to this product is that after drinking a bottle you might feel as though you've consumed enough mint to last a lifetime. The aftertaste (which is arguably a good aftertaste as it leaves your breath fresh) is one that sticks with you for a while. Therefore, METROMINT Water, is a beverage that may struggle with repeat and/or volume sales. Still, it's a good clean product with catchy packaging, so we still encourage you to give this product a try.Reviewed on: 1/17/2007

Spearmint Water

Product Type:Water: Still; Container: 16.9 fl oz
BevNET Review: Metromint has really nailed it with this one. Where the flagship Peppermint flavor was strong and had bite - it did, after all, use peppermint - the Spearmint variety is smooth and has less bite. This being said, we most definitely prefer the Spearmint over the original -- and we also think that the mainstream appeal of this variety is better than the Peppermint. Beyond the flavor, there's the packaging which, like the original, has a clean, modern style that is pleasing to the eye. Overall, a job well done by Metromint.Reviewed on: 1/17/2007

Orangemint Water

Product Type:Water: Still; Container: 16.9 fl oz
BevNET Review: Metromint’s combination of orange and mint is surprisingly good, with the citrus essence and real mint working together in a very complementary way. The splash of unsweetened citrus flavor does a good job of making the mint flavor seem less harsh on the tongue. Overall, it’s a very pleasant flavor that is both soothing and refreshing. Packaging has always been Metromint’s strongest asset -- and Orangemint is no exception. The sleek, modern design is clean and appealing, with a very clear, easy-to-notice system of visual differentiation between the flavors. Overall, this is possibly Metromint’s best – and most mainstream – flavor yet.Reviewed on: 1/17/2007

Lemonmint Water

Product Type:Water: Still; Container: 16.9 fl oz
BevNET Review: The seemingly simple combination of two unsweetened fruit flavors provides a strong, complex flavor that does a great job of cleansing the palate. Lemon and mint – two somewhat intense flavors – is a combination that will likely appeal to consumers who like mint, but need another flavor to cut it with. Lemon is a good choice, although it is probably the type of flavor that won’t really expand Metromint’s base too much. Still, it’s a well executed flavor that provides a very true-to-nature taste. Plus, the addition of yellow to the Metromint lineup (which previously featured only green and greenish blue) gives the brand a new, more diverse and eye-catching feeling. Overall, a well executed flavor, but not it’s not really a game changer for this brand.Reviewed on: 1/16/2007
