Alta Palla: Sparkling Grapefruit

Of the three initial flavors of Alta Palla, this is, at least from a flavor perspective, our favorite of the bunch (all three are USDA Organic). Made with 10 percent grapefruit juice, this product has a more intense and clean fruit flavor than the other varieties. It goes nicely with the added sugar and the carbonation and the end result is something that is really pleasing to the palate. While there are added flavors, the high juice content and decision to exclusively use grapefruit are definitely plusses and help the product have a very clean finish. From a packaging and branding perspective, we’re big fans of what the company has created. Alta Palla, which means “high ball” in Italian (the product is made by the company that owns energy drink brand Hiball), is both clever and sophisticated-sounding. The can is attractive and clean looking, which should make it pretty versatile in terms of its ability to succeed both on- and off-premise. Overall, we’re big fans of this product and the Alta Palla brand as whole.
