The Chard Basil flavor of BluePrint Juice is a USDA Organic blend of cold-pressed chard, basil, apple, romaine, celery cucumber, collards and lemon. Compared with most other green juices that we’ve sampled as of late, which typically feature kale and spinach, this product has a slightly different flavor profile. The company's unique choice of greens paired with the addition of basil gives it a hearty but herbaceous taste. As far as sweetness is concerned, this flavor pretty much nails it. The apple flavor never gets in the way of the other flavors, but also does a nice job of keeping the greens from being a bit too much. The product clocks in at 130 calories and 25g of sugar, which is similar to other products in the category. Visually, the product uses the same layout as the other flavors, which makes it instantly identifiable as as product from BluePrint. However, seeing it on the shelf amongst their two other green juices, the use of text (eight lines of it) as the only differentiator makes it quite challenging to quickly select it from the others. If BluePrint intends to further expand its green juice offerings, this is something that it should consider addressing. Overall, BluePrint’s Chard Basil is a very nice tasting addition to the lineup, but we feel as though the naming or labeling convention needs to evolve a bit.
