Review: Walnuts & Honey

Forager’s “Walnuts & Honey” is a USDA Organic and HPP blend of walnut milk, cashew milk, honey, cinnamon, vanilla and sea salt. The flavor of the product is very much that of a cashew milk -- the walnuts don’t seem to have an overly dominant flavor. Instead, we get what we think is a note from the walnuts on the second half of the flavor. The cashew flavor is definitely quite enjoyable as is this the product’s body, which we’d describe as slightly rich but not overly thick. The combined flavor of cashew and walnut milks goes very nicely with blend of cinnamon, vanilla and sea salt that round out the finish. As for the honey, Forager used it pretty sparingly so you’ll only find a light touch of sweetness to this product. This helps keep the sugar content pretty low (9g per 8 oz.), which is definitely a plus. All in all, we really the flavor profile of this product. Packaging and branding uses the same format as the other Forager products, but with a backdrop of walnuts around the top. Unfortunately, these images are pretty hard to make out, especially in comparison to the more sharp looking nut and seed images that are used on their other milk products. However, the name “Walnuts & Honey” is quite appetizing and inviting, so perhaps consumers will look past this. Overall, a very enjoyable product from Forager.
