The latest from the Hangover Joe’s company is The Hangover Recovery shot. This product is immediately recognizable due to the design featuring characters from the movie The Hangover. This 2 oz shot is labeled as a citrus shot but tastes much more in line with a sweeter tasting citrus berry (probably from the goji berry concentrate). This product is sweetened only with sucralose and clocks in at 8 calories per shot. Per the label the “get up and go blend” includes taurine, kudzu, caffeine, n-acetyl, l-tyrosine, theobromine, l-phenylalanine and extracts of black pepper, acai and mangosteen. As mentioned, this product entirely revolves around The Hangover movie for its branding. Given the success of both Hangover movies and the growing recovery category the co-branding is a very nice fit. The movie helps convey exactly what this shot is about, hangover recovery. Overall, we think The Hangover recovery shot is one of the more pleasant tasting recovery shots we have come across and as long as the Hangover movie remains relevant in pop culture we see this product doing well.
