BevNET Review

Happy Tree Maple Water is a high pressure processed (HPP) beverage that, as the name might suggest, is made using water sourced from maple trees. While this is one of several products that are coming to market as part of what appears to be an emerging trend, Happy Tree is definitely the best maple water that we’ve had to date. The flavor profile is definitely skewed towards being a water, with the mellow maple flavor hitting your palate on the back end. And it’s a very enjoyable note, with a light sweetness and a touch of earthiness. It’s hard to say if HPP has the same positive effect on flavor that it does with juices, but the flavor of this product is light, clean, and thirst-quenching. Plus, at only 35 calories and 8g of sugar per 10 oz. bottle, this single-ingredient product is definitely something that should be a viable option for those who are watching their calorie intake. Functionally, the product touts electrolytes, B vitamins and antioxidants as its key benefits. From our perspective, these seem like added benefits as opposed to the primary reason that someone would consume this product. On the outside, the company has done an excellent job of creating something that’s personable, appealing, and easy to understand. If there’s anything about the packaging that is worth considering, it would be to add something that calls out taste and low calories as benefits. Otherwise, consumers are probably expecting something much heavier than what’s inside the bottle. Overall, a solid start for Happy Tree Maple Water.
