BevNET Review

Using a formula that was, according to the manufacturer, formulated by the US Military, HOOAH! Soldier Fuel is a non-carbonated energy drink that was designed to provide the drinker with a steady stream of energy. What does that mean? Well, for starters they took out the caffeine and didn't use many of the other ingredients found in other energy drinks. Instead, it's just simplex and complex sugars, which basically means that the manufacturer / US Military find no benefit from things like taurine and guarana (a source of natural caffeine). While we agree with this theory, it doesn't make for the most marketable product outside of the nutrition and health segments of the market. The flavor is enjoyable, but it tastes like something that was created from a powder mix. Our biggest issue is with the look of the product. The vertically oriented block text is difficult to read and the red, white, blue colors on a silver background leave the product feeling generic and easy to miss. Overall, we think that this product is a decent first attempt, but the fact that the formulation is purely sugar based is not likely to be popular once consumers read the label.
