Review: Peach, Verbena, Lemon

In/Fusion’s “Peach, Verbena, Lemon” flavor is an iced herbal tea which uses verbena leaf as its base ingredient. From there, the company adds peach puree, grape must and lemon, which results in something that tastes like a peach and lemon-flavored tea. The fruit flavors are lightly sweet, but strong in body, which pretty much masks the underlying herbal tea. As a result, the verbena is a more muted herbal flavor, and it does give the product a slightly floral finish. Still, it’s a very enjoyable tasting product, and we appreciate that In/Fusion has created something that’s rather modest when it comes to sugar and calories (23g and 110, respectively). On the outside, the company chosen an 11.1 oz. Tetra Pak carton with a DreamCap. The use of an asceptic package eliminates the need for preservatives (definitely a plus), while the carton has a unique-looking theme that focuses on the product’s French origins. If there’s anything about this product that we think needs to be improved, it’s the naming of the flavor and the placement of the name. As it stands right now, it’s buried at the bottom, and it’s simply not clear exactly what the flavor is going to be. Making this more obvious and eye-catching would certainly help. Beyond that, the packaging is one that feels a little too busy to the point where there your eye doesn’t focus on any one particular element. Overall, the product feels like it still needs some design refinement, but the concept and the execution of the formulation definitely feel like they have some potential.
