Review: Kale Punch (2014)

Juisi’s Kale Punch is the company's take on green juice, with watermelon, spinach, pineapple, orange, organic kale, organic parsley and organic ginger being the ingredients of choice. It’s nice to see a green juice that isn’t loaded with apple OR devoid of any sweetness. The watermelon, pineapple, and orange, which provide the sweetness to the drink, work surprisingly well with the heavy flavors of kale and spinach. To that end, they’ve definitely succeeded in creating a flavor that stands out and is memorable. Perhaps the only thing that we’d like to see would be more organic ingredients, even if the company doesn’t go 100 percent. On the packaging front, there’s definitely some room for improvement. Starting with the technical issue of not having the label applied the same on every bottle. Some bottles have the label off-center more so than others, which gives the product a slightly sloppy shelf presence. Beyond that, we’d like to see a more dominant looking logo (placing it above the fruit image would help as well). Otherwise, the front label copy certainly does a nice job of conveying what’s in it and calling attention to the company's Non-GMO Project certification.
