Matcha LOVE: Sweetened Green Tea

If unsweetened tea isn’t your thing, Ito En’s Matcha Love has a sweetened variety (although we implore you to try the unsweetened version). The formulation includes added sugar (13g) to the same great tasting base of green tea and matcha that you’ll find in the company's unsweetened variety. Against the light backdrop of the tea, it definitely tastes pretty sweet. Any more sugar, and we think it would probably be too much. Otherwise, we really like the concept of a small “shot” like product. It’s a great portion for a pick-me-up when you don’t feel like a full bottle of tea. On the outside, the 5.2 oz. can is clean looking and intuitive. Ito En has done a very nice job with the limited space on the can. Plus, we like the simple logo and brand, which is personable without being in your face. This should make for something that’s both approachable and authentic on the store shelf. Overall, a very enjoyable matcha beverage.
