o2living Kids Juice: Pineapple Apple Kale

This variety of o2 Living’s Kids lineup marries pineapple, apple and kale into a USDA organic, high pressure processed formulation. The flavor is very much apple first, which was a little bit of a letdown from a product that has a pineapple squarely on the front of the label. The pineapple and kale flavors are masked pretty heavily. While we understand that kids probably wouldn’t want the kale to be noticeable, we do think that the product would benefit from just a bit more pineapple flavor. Still, for what it is, the company has done a really nice job creating a smaller format cold-pressed juice product that should definitely appeal to kids (and adults). On the packaging and branding side of things, we really like that o2 Living’s switch to a black label. It definitely stands out on the shelf, and the fruit characters give it less serious vibe than the competition. In addition, we like the execution of this product’s fruit character over the others (it feels a bit less goofy). However, we’re still a little unsure of “o2 Living” as a brand name (it doesn’t sound like something that you’d actually say in practice). More emphasis on “o2” might be an easy way to solve this. Overall, we like the concept of this product and, for the most part, the execution of it.
