BevNET Review

Despite having a mouthful of a name, Texas Tea’s “Austin’s Own Goodflow Honey Green Tea” is the best flavor of the bunch. It’s a straightforward and enjoyable tasting product, with green tea, honey, sugar, spearmint and lemon being the flavors that you taste. Aside from the level of sweetness, which has definitely been cranked up to achieve a Southern-style tea, the flavors are balanced and smooth. We would, however, love it if the company dialed down the sugar a bit. In its current form, it overpowers the other flavors of the drink and mutes the flavor of the raw honey. Ultimately, this is a nice tasting tea, but it would definitely be better with some adjustment to the sweetness. On the outside, the company uses a stock 16 ounce glass bottle that is synonymous with the tea category. This is fine, but the Texas-themed label feels cluttered. Trimming the name to something more reasonable would be a good starting point, but otherwise we feel as though the brand could use some help in connecting with the consumer (especially ones who don’t have ties to Texas). Overall, this is a nice product, but we think it needs to do more if it's truly going to compete with what’s already on the market.
