BevNET Review
Zoos Greek Iced Tea is an herbal tea that is made from Sideritis (aka ironwort), which is a flowering plant. It’s a pretty tasty product, with a mellow flavor that tastes pretty similar to white tea, but with an almost mint-like finish. Zoots sweetened the product with cane sugar (to the tune of 12g per 8 oz.), but it’s not an overly sweet product. Instead, there’s a nice balance between the base herbal tea and the sweetness, something that certainly allows it to hold its own against other premium herbal teas. On the packaging front, we have mixed feelings about this product. On the one hand, the look of the label is clean and pleasing to the eye. On the other hand, we don’t like the company's choice of bottle, and it’s hard to say how branding an iced tea as a “Greek Iced Tea” will work out; Greece isn't necessarily known for iced tea. In our opinion, emphasizing Zoos and making the Greek aspect more subtle would help this product. Overall, we like the concept and the execution of the formulation and feel as though it’s a product that, with some refinement, brings something innovative to the tea category.
