@@img1 NEW YORK – A new line of low-carb, vitamin-rich, additive-free waters has taken New York City by storm.
Energy Multi-Vitamin Enhanced Water sold out its initial run of 40,000 cases just two weeks after its enormously successful launch in May. Plans are now underway to expand distribution nationwide.
Company executive Raymond Jaquez attributes the brand’s overnight success to two things: “superior taste and no additives.” Says Jaquez: “Today’s health-conscious consumer does not want caffeine, taurine, excess sugars and artificial additives in their water. Our product offers natural energy, taste and refreshment without the high carbs and chemicals of other brands.”
Five high-energy formulas
Energy Multi-Vitamin Enhanced Waters are pure water with a light touch of natural fruit flavors. There are five varieties: “Power A” has a peach-strawberry taste high in Vitamin C; “Rejuvenate” features a Vitamin E formula and orange flavor; “Recovery” delivers extra B12 with kiwi-strawberry flavor; and “Revitalize” combines Vitamin A with a tropical citrus taste. The line also offers a tropical punch Sports water rich in electrolytes.
Each 20-ounce bottle provides 125 percent of the U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance of Vitamin C and 40 percent of the RDA for Vitamins A, E, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12. The drinks also deliver significant minerals and other nutrients, including calcium, iron, zinc, potassium, magnesium, iodine, and chromium.
While the all-natural product is high on nutrients, it’s low in calories. Each 8-ounce serving of Energy Multi-Vitamin Enhanced Water has less than 50 calories and 13 grams of carbohydrates; a no-carb, no-calorie peach-mango water is on the way.
Enhanced water is the fastest growing segment in the U.S. beverage category, and a rising force in Europe, according to BeverageDaily.com, enjoying triple-digit growth at smaller retail outlets. Trade publication Beverage Industry reports that the market for enhanced water market grew more than 40% last year, to more than $325 million wholesale in the U.S.
“We did a lot of research prior to this launch,” Jaquez says. “Our goal was to build the perfect enhanced water for today’s carb-conscious consumer, and we think our spectacular roll-out proves our point.”
Louis Fasulo, sales manager for Two B’s Beverage Distribution, agrees. “This product has been extremely successful in its short existence,” he says. “It not only tastes delicious but is packed with more vitamins than any other water. I expect it to quickly develop a strong and lasting following.”
