CARLSBAD, Calif., July 21, 2004 – Penta water, the no. 1 selling bottled water in health food stores, is now available in a 1.0-liter size. In addition, its .5- and new 1.0-liter bottles can be purchased in a convenient 12-pack case. Carlsbad, Calif.-based Bio-Hydration Research Lab, Inc., manufactures Penta.
According to Penta inventor and CEO William D. Holloway, demand from stores nationwide has been overwhelming ever since word leaked out about the new 1.0-liter size.
“We expect our initial production run of 1.0 liters to sell out within weeks,” said Holloway.
According to Holloway, the 1.0-liter bottle, with a suggested retail price of $2.79, will make it more convenient for athletes to transport water to the gym for workouts.
“I have one gentleman who is coming in everyday asking for the new larger size,” said Ann Sheridan, store manager for Healthy Alternatives in Trexlertown, Pa. “I won’t be able to keep the 1 liter in stock.”
“My customers are definitely interested in the 1 liter,” added Keith Franklin, owner of Nature’s Way in Madison, Wis. “I’m looking forward to it being a great seller, along with the .5 liter.”
Holloway feels stores will find the 12-pack a great cold box item, especially since it will fit on shelves easier than Penta’s standard 24-pack. It will also be more convenient to transport for those living in metropolitan areas, or for those on the go. Suggested retail price for the 12-pack case is $19.99.
“I think the value and convenience of a 12-pack case is very a good idea, and will be a good seller because it’s a lot more portable,” said Gail Barrett, owner of Highland, Inc., a restaurant in, Milwaukee, Wis.
For more information on ordering the new 1.0-liter bottle or 12-pack case, stores can contact their local distributor or call 1-800-531-5088.
