Soma Beverage Company Announces Distribution Agreement with Smart & Final Stores

SAN FRANCISCO (February 8, 2011) — Soma Beverage Company, leading beverage manufacturer and pioneer of the mintwater and the unsweetened flavored water category, today announced an agreement with Smart & Final Stores LLC, to distribute a new 12-bottle Metromint variety pack that will be exclusively available throughout the western retailer’s territory.  Starting in early February, Metromint will enter 182 Smart & Final retail locations, expanding its presence in major cities across California, Arizona and Nevada.

“Metromint’s debut at Smart & Final marks the first time the brand is being sold in a multi-bottle package and available to be purchased in quantity,” said Scott Lowe, co-founder, Soma Beverage Company.  “This exclusive partnership is a huge step forward for the adaptation of Metromint among mainstream consumers, granting us the opportunity to reach an entirely new demographic of shoppers, while also offering fans of the brand a new opportunity to satisfy their craving for the product more easily.”

The new Metromint variety pack consists of 12 individual 16.9 oz. bottles – featuring four of each of the following varieties:  Peppermint, Spearmint and Lemonmint. The variety pack will be available in Smart & Final and Smart & Final “Extra!” locations and will be competitively priced. Metromint will also showcase end-cap in-store promotions and product demonstrations starting this spring.
