HOLLAND, Mich. — Boxed Water kicked off the first of many activations for its Better for Our Planet campaign, at the South By Southwest (SXSW) conference and festival in early March. Better for Our Planet enables consumers to give back to the planet by planting two trees for every picture of Boxed Water posted using #betterplanet starting this month and going throughout the summer. The SXSW activities mark the start of full spring and summer seasons for Boxed Water to engage with consumers at field events.
From Boxed Water’s start, the brand has drawn in audiences from unique events. Consumer connection is a driving force in the brand’s leadership in the sustainably packaged water category. Boxed Water was the first to offer a sustainable alternative to plastic bottles and continues to give back to the planet in a way that has reached millions of consumers. The Better for Our Planet campaign builds upon a relationship with the National Forest Foundation to repopulate national forests in need.
At SXSW, Boxed Water gave attendees a way to plant trees at the festival through activations at one of the official event venues, Michigan House. Michigan House is a pop-up space that uses the talent and topics within the Great Lakes State to prompt a national discussion. Boxed Water’s Chief Marketing Officer, Rob Koenen, spoke on water issues as part of a panel discussion on March 10. The five-person panel examined the perspectives and tactics of water protectors, community activists, and industrial users.
“SXSW is always filled with positive energy and lively discussions. It served as a perfect venue to kick off the season and build excitement around the Better for Our Planet campaign,” said Rob Koenen, Chief Marketing Officer at Boxed Water. “We connected with loyal followers and new fans of Boxed Water at the Michigan House and offered our own perspective around water and the importance of sustainability.”
