The summer may be coming to an end, but entrepreneurs were plenty busy working on new innovations, including fall seasonal releases, brand collaborations, and creative flavor profiles. We spotlight a number of notable new launches from August.
Big Easy Bucha Kombucha Shots
Big Easy Bucha has released Lil’ Easy Concentrated Kombucha Shots, a three-SKU line sold in variety packs at all Publix stores. The line includes Ginger Spice, Tropical Fruit, and Very Berry varieties packaged in 4 oz. bottles.
Brew Dr. Fall Seasonal
Oregon-based Brew Dr. Kombucha has released its first limited edition fall seasonal flavor called Harvest, which is brewed using organic and raw ingredients and is flavored with apricot and tarragon. The new flavor is available in 14 oz. and 32 oz. bottles from August through October 2018.
Cuvée Coffee Horchata Cold Brew
Texas-Based Cuvée Coffee has released a nitro-infused horchata cold brew in cans at the company’s Austin cafe and select retailers. The product is based on one of the cafe’s top selling regional flavors and is infused with cinnamon, vanilla, almond, and sugar.
Health-Ade + Tone It Up Bubbly Rose
Health-Ade Kombucha and fitness brand Tone It Up have partnered to release Health-Ade + Tone It Up Bubble Rose Super-Food, made with hawthorn berry, mangosteen, and rose petals.
La Colombe Cold Brew Shandy
La Colombe Coffee Roasters has released a Cold Brew Shandy Lemonade. The product was originally offered on tap at select La Colombe cafes and is now available in 8 oz cans.
Natalie's Cucumber Jalapeno Juice
Florida-based Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company has released Cucumber Jalapeno as the newest flavor in its line of premium cold pressed juices. The SKU, which also includes apple and lemon, is naturally low in sugar and contains only 60 calories per 8 oz. serving.
O2 Blackberry Currant and Lemon Lime Flavors
O2 Natural Recovery, maker of a line of low sugar recovery drinks, has released caffeine-free Blackberry Currant and Lemon Lime flavors which contain only 20 calories per 16 oz. can. The new flavors are available in select Whole Foods, Kroger, and specialty stores.
Picnik Extra Bold, Vanilla Latte, and Golden Milk Matcha
Butter coffee maker Picnik has extended its CPG line with Extra Bold and Vanilla Latte coffees and a dairy-free Golden Milk Matcha. The products contain medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil and are available in 12 oz bottles.
Polar Mythical Flavors
After releasing a limited edition “Mythical Flavors” line of 8 oz cans last summer, Polar Seltzer has made the line a permanent part of its product lineup and added two new SKUs -- Minotaur Mayhem and Pixie Lights.
Slingshot Coffee Soda
North Carolina-based Slingshot Coffee Co. has released a line of cold brew coffee sodas in Black Cherry Cola and Citrus Vanilla Cream Soda varieties. The products are available in 8 oz. cans and are certified organic, certified kosher, and are made with direct trade coffee.
Welch’s Sparkling Plus Energy
This month, juice maker Welch’s launched its Sparkling Plus Energy line as a limited release. The products are made with juice from concentrate and organic coffee extract. Both Sparkling Grape and Sparkling Fruit Punch flavors are currently available exclusively in Baltimore, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
XYIENCE Wild Grape and Fuji Apple Flavors
Zero calorie energy drink XYIENCE has released two new flavors -- Wild Grape and Fuji Apple. In a press release, the company cited research indicating grape-flavored SKUs as being among the fastest growing in the energy drink category, while noting apple as a less ubiquitous flavor that gives XYIENCE a unique point of differentiation.
