Sogrape announced today the launch of solisto – the first modern Portuguese sparkling wine in the US. solisto will be imported by Evaton, the US distributor for Sogrape’s leading portfolio of Portuguese wines. Deliciously styled for fun, and entertaining, solisto represents an entirely new contemporary offering in the Sparkling Wine category and delivers more of what consumers are seeking in bubbly!

The newest addition to Evaton’s portfolio of award-winning wines and spirits, solisto is expertly crafted by the masterful winemaking team behind Silk & Spice - a category leader, and one of the fastest growing red blends in the US. 

solisto, which translates to “This Sun,” is a literal metaphor that embodies the driving force of the country and its people. Portugal is one of the sunniest places in the world and is brought to life by the elements of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, abundant sunshine, maritime breezes and the conviviality and joy of its people — this modern Portuguese sparkling wine elevates any occasion with its luxurious yet approachable appeal.

“With its exquisite flavor and premium appearance, solisto aims to establish itself as the premier sparkling wine in the US, an alternative to Italian prosecco,” says Filipe Gonçalves, Chief Marketing Officer at Sogrape. “Each bottle of solisto captures Portugal’s vibrant energy; when you enjoy solisto with friends, you are sharing Portugal’s spirit.” 

In terms of what consumers can expect in flavor profile, solisto presents aromas and crisp flavors of white peach, pear, and nectarine, with subtle floral notes. Its persistent, well-defined bubbles deliver a creamy textured mouthfeel, complemented by juicy stone-fruit and a clean citrus finish. This Portuguese blend is comprised of all indigenous grapes including 55% Maria Gomes, a grape variety providing stone fruit and roundness typical of the Bairrada region, 28% Cercial, a rare Portuguese grape offering freshness and crisp green-apple flavors, and 17% Alvarinho from the Vinho Verde region, adding notes of peach and white flowers with a long finish.

Designed to surprise and delight Prosecco enthusiasts, solisto aims to become synonymous with Portugal's golden sunshine and zest for life, both figuratively and in its packaging. Ownable gold and blue colors are reminiscent of sunny skies, and premium gold foil on the neck and gold embossing on the label evoke affordable luxury. “Product of Portugal" is prominently displayed on the label, capitalizing on the country's growing popularity as a wine destination.
